Pre-School Transition

Transition Visits for New Entrant (pre-5 / 5 Year-Old) Enrolments take place every Tuesday afternoon from 1:45pm - 2:30pm.

Children/Whānau are expected to complete a minimum of four visits prior to enrolment / beginning school - This is to allow for a smooth and seamless transition for both child and whānau.

** All new enrolments must have full uniform prior to officially starting school

Uniform

School Uniform is compulsory and available for purchase online and in-person at the NZ Uniforms store in Hastings. Credit Cards can be used online, EFTPOS is available in-store and they also except the green WINZ cards.

We can size your child up at school prior to purchasing uniform too.

As a proud partner of the Ministry of Education’s Ka Ora, Ka Ako and Fruit in Schools programmes, we ensure every #CanKid has access to fresh, nutritious kai throughout the day!

If you’d like to pack a few extra snacks for those "top-up" moments, we kindly ask that you stick to healthy options to keep our learners fuelled and focused.

Enrolment Information

It's simple...fill in a few forms, bring along your child's passport or birth certificate and then sit down and meet with us.
 

At these meetings we typically will ask if there are any social, learning, or any concerns that we may need to be aware of to better support your child and ensure a smooth transition.
 

If your child was previously enrolled at another school it is not a mandatory requirement for you to inform them about changing schools, however we do contact them to ask about Attendance, Behaviour, Learning Needs. We request your child's records, etc from the previous school.

Fees

Thanks to a government initiative we have been able to greatly subsidise learning related costs for all #CanKidz and whānau.

Stationery is FREE!!!

Trips / EOTC / Camp = FREE!

All school curriculum related trips are FREE!

This includes class trips, Y6 Optimist Yachting and Y6 Camp!

​

The only trip #CanKidz have to pay for is our Taupō Sports Exchange each two years when we travel through to Taupō ($20 each).
